Bible covers, or scripture covers come in many colors, many sizes and shapes. There are leather Bible covers, faux leather and canvas, as well as animal print and camouflage Bible covers and Bible totes. Some may have handles or zippers or even storage compartments. Several include organizers and others even double as purses. There are covers for everyone.

When buying a Bible cover there are several things to consider. Since your priority should be protecting your Bible, you need to be sure the cover fits properly. An improperly sized cover can be just as damaging as no cover at all. If it is too large, the Bible will move around inside the cover and protection will be limited. Like clothing, if a cover is too small or too tight both the cover and the Bible will wear out quickly. Be sure to accurately measure your Bible and select a cover that is at least 1/4 inch larger than your Bible in each dimension. Allow extra space for your Bible study aids, pens, notepads and your daily journal. Check the product description for sizes. Another consideration in purchasing your cover is who are you buying this for? A fashion conscious woman might want a purse style cover/tote, and she might be game for a zebra or leopard print. Someone in the military might like the camouflage Bible covers. Not only are they protecting their Bibles, but they are protecting themselves by having a cover that blends in with their surroundings. Men might like the look and feel of real leather or the practicality of canvas. Everyone can use an organizer style Bible cover. Don’t forget teens and children. They can use covers also.
A third consideration would be the materials the cover is made from. Covers are available in a wide range of materials. These materials have different levels of durability, ranging from polyester, nylon and canvas to the sturdier covers made of microfiber, faux leather and leather. Pricing will also vary depending on the materials the cover is made from.
